He is best known for his unique fusion of contemporary rock and Punjabi folk music, creating a genre that is often referred to as “Rabbi-rock” or “Sufi-rock.”
Rabbi Shergill’s musical journey began during his college days when he formed a band called “Rabbi and the Gypsies” and performed at various local events. His breakthrough came with the release of his debut album “Rabbi” in 2004, which received widespread acclaim and brought him immense popularity.
One of the standout tracks from his debut album was “Bulla Ki Jaana,” a soulful and introspective song that became an instant hit and remains one of his most famous compositions.
