Motherjane
Motherjane is a progressive rock band from Kochi, Kerala, India, formed in 1996. The band is known for their unique sound that blends together elements of Indian classical music with progressive rock and metal.
Motherjane’s original lineup consisted of Suraj Mani on vocals, Baiju Dharmajan on guitars, John Thomas on keyboards, Deepu Sasidharan on bass guitar, and Ratheesh Kumar on drums. Over the years, the lineup has changed, with various members joining and leaving the band.
The band has released several albums, including “Insane Biography,” “Maktub,” and “Newborn Sun.” They are known for their energetic live performances and have performed at numerous music festivals and events around the world, including the Great Indian Rock Festival and the IIT Mood Indigo Festival.
In addition to their music, Motherjane has also been involved in various social and philanthropic causes, such as working with organizations to provide education to underprivileged children and raising awareness about environmental issues. They have won several awards for their music, including the Best Band Award at the Jack Daniel’s Rock Awards and the Best Rock Band Award at the Rolling Stone India Awards.
