Hemlata, born as Lata Bhatt on August 16, is an Indian playback singer known for her contributions to the Hindi film industry. She started her singing career in the 1970s and has recorded songs in various Indian languages, including Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, and more.
Hemlata’s melodious voice and versatility allowed her to excel in a wide range of genres, including romantic ballads, devotional songs, and peppy numbers. She collaborated with several renowned music directors of her time, including Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Kalyanji-Anandji, R.D. Burman, and Rajesh Roshan, among others.
