Ghulam Abbas Khan was an Indian theatre director, playwright, and actor. He was born on August 24, 1933, in Lahore, British India (now Pakistan) and passed away on January 17, 2018, in Mumbai, India.

Khan Sahab was known for his contributions to Indian theatre, particularly in the field of Urdu theatre. He directed and produced several plays, including “Kamla,” “Mitti Ki Gadi,” “Heer Ranjha,” and “Taj Mahal Ka Tender,” among others. He was also a prolific writer and had written several plays, including “Gardish Mein Taare,” “Aurat,” and “Gaddar.”

Apart from his work in theatre, Khan Sahab had also acted in several films and television shows, including “Bharat Ek Khoj,” “Guru Dakshina,” and “Dil Dhadakne Do,” among others.

Khan Sahab was honored with several awards for his contributions to Indian theatre, including the Padma Shri in 2013 and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2016. He was considered one of the most influential and respected theatre personalities in India.
