Ameen sabri
Ameen Sabri was a renowned Pakistani Qawwali singer, composer, and poet. He was born on March 12, 1946, in Kalyana, Uttar Pradesh, India, and passed away on November 22, 2011, in Karachi, Pakistan.
Ameen Sabri belonged to the famous Sabri family of Qawwals and was the son of Ghulam Farid Sabri, a legendary Qawwali singer. He started his music career at a young age and quickly gained recognition for his soulful and melodious voice.
Ameen Sabri performed with his brother, Aziz Mian Sabri, and together they created some of the most memorable Qawwalis, including “Tajdar-e-Haram” and “Bhar Do Jholi Meri”. He also worked on several solo projects and released several albums of Qawwalis.
Ameen Sabri received several awards and honors for his work, including the “Pride of Performance” award by the Government of Pakistan in 2008, one of the highest civilian awards in Pakistan, for his contributions to music. Ameen Sabri continues to be remembered as one of the greatest Qawwali singers of all time and his music continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.
