Kaushiki Chakraborty
Kaushiki Chakraborty is an Indian classical vocalist, known primarily for her mastery of the North Indian classical music genre of Khayal and Thumri. She was born into a musical family in Kolkata, India in 1980, and began her training in music at a very young age under the guidance of her mother, Chandana Chakraborty, who is herself a renowned classical vocalist.
Kaushiki Chakraborty has received training from several other eminent musicians, including her father, Ajoy Chakraborty, who is also a famous classical vocalist. She has performed at various music festivals and concerts in India and around the world, including the prestigious Dover Lane Music Conference in Kolkata, the Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan in Jalandhar, and the Darbar Festival in London.
In addition to her classical music performances, Kaushiki Chakraborty has also collaborated with several contemporary musicians, and has lent her voice to several Bollywood films. She has been honored with several awards for her contribution to music, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2017, which is the highest national recognition given to performing artists in India.
