Mallika Sarabhai is an Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and social activist. She was born on May 9, 1954, in Ahmedabad, India.

Sarabhai is trained in classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, as well as contemporary dance. She has performed extensively in India and around the world, and has received several awards for her performances, including the Padma Shri and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.

In addition to her work in dance, Sarabhai is also a social activist and has been involved in several social and environmental causes. She has worked with various organizations to promote gender equality, human rights, and environmental sustainability.

Sarabhai has also been involved in theater and has acted in several plays, including the Hindi adaptation of the play “The Vagina Monologues.” She has also produced and directed several plays, including “Draupadi,” which explores issues of gender and patriarchy.
